Is everyone eager to grab a copy of Bloodhound when it comes out next week?

I've got mine pre-ordered and I was wondering if other people would be as anxious to get their mitts on it as I am. Tammy is one of those authors you just *have* to have every single book by since most of them are related to one Universe or the other - do any of you have all of her books??

Gah i can't wait!! :D

I just finished it this afternoon, and I actually liked it better than Terrier. I thought the plotting was tighter, and I loved watching Beka come into her own.

LadyViolet, I've got my fingers crossed that it'll show up soon!

I haven't finished reading Terrier yet so I haven't gotten Bloodhound. I will probably read it this summer along with lots of other books. I was hoping that I would get it for my birthday last Wednesday, or a book store gift card, but I didn't.

Honestly, the first time I read Terrier I didn't really like it. Though I think was just missing my friends from the other books. Other than Beka being the ancestor of George, there were no familiar faces...other than Faithful a.k.a. Pounce. I did love that ;-p

But, of course, I can't turn my back on Tammy's Tortall books, so right before Bloodhound came out I read it again. I liked it a lot better the second time and just chalked it up to not being in the right mindset the first time.

I agree, though, that Bloodhound has a better, tighter plot. I also felt like she tied in more tidbits from the other books - like mentioning the purple color of the Trebond Gift, and so forth.

I'll admit, I was thrown by Terrier originally, too, largely for the same reasons. There was nobody I recognized, and Beka was a very different sort of heroine from many of Tammy's others. A strength in her writing, I find, but sometimes it takes me a bit to warm to something new when I *want* more of the old as well!
