If a photo is being offered as a press photo does that mean we can use it here?

I would say yes, but several other flaggers would disagree. Short answer is, you probably should get permission in that case because it's better to be on the safe side.

Problem is that is the only photo I've found that even possibly is usable. And there is no contact on the website. :grr:

Ok, I'm resurrecting this, because I was looking at the copyright guidelines ( http://www.librarything.com/wiki/index.php/Contributing_photos_to_LibraryThing ) and ran across this as one of the guidelines:
"The image has been specifically released for general promotional use "
So wouldn't something being offered as a press photo fall under that?

IANAL but I would think that a press photo "has been specifically released for general promotional use".
