I'm baffled how anyone could not love this book. It might be the funniest novel I've ever read, but it still has that Pynchon density and madness...

The story of Fairing's Parish nearly had me in tears from laughing so hard. It would be beautiful if someone fleshed out the diary entries into an entire book.

Look for Yoyodyne in Buckaroo Bonzai -- one of the greatest and weirdest films of the 1980s.

Louisa May Alcott wrote a thriller entitled "V.V.: or, Plots and Counterplots" (it is collected in The Feminist Alcott). Coincidence? Or another thread in the matrix of understanding Pynchon?
