Recycling Plastics:
1.PET - Polythylene terephthalate - bottled soft
drinks and some bottled water,cooking oil bottles, oven ready meal trays
2. HDPE - Hi density polyethylene - plastic milk bottles, detergent liquid bottles
3. PVC - Polyvinyl Chloride - plastic pipes, outdoor furnitures, bottled water, shrink wrap
4. LDPE - Low Density Polyethylene - dry cleaning
tags,carrier bags, bin/garbage lines
5.PPE - Polyproylene - bottle caps,margarine/
butter tubs
6.PS - Polystyrene - foam meat trays, plasic tableware,vending machine drinks cups,protective packaging
7. OTHER - Any recyclable plastic that does not fall into the above categories.
As it is very difficult to recycle many types of plastics, the FIRST STEP is to use less of it.
Are we reycling the correct types of plastic ?
FACT: One study reported that 1.8 tons of oil are saved for every ton of reycled PET produced.
Let us together support and encourage in the good and correct habit of recycling.
