If by "from this past year" you mean books published in 2009, then, no, I don't have anything to recommend. But, although it's long, I found Sheila Rowbotham's 2008 Edward Carpenter : a life of liberty and love absolutely worth reading. So did my book group. What a man!
Also not from 2009 but recent is André Aciman's Call me by your name. It's not in your library and if you haven't read it, then give yourself a treat.

I just finished reading Salvation Army by {Abdellah Taia}. It's been nominated for a Lammy Award for gay fiction. It's well worth reading.
