Coming in for a book nudge and I've put together a random selection from my tbr pile.

The Amethysts by Frank Delaney
The White Dragon by Richard Garnett
Britannia Mews by Margery Sharp
The Dig by John Preston
Flaubert's Parrot by Julian Barnes
The Ministry of Special Cases by Nathan Englander
Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe
Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont by Elizabeth Taylor
A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers by Xiaolu Guo
Troll: a love story by Johanna Sinisalo
The White King by Gyorgy Dragoman
Magpie Hall by Rachel King
City of Thieves by David Benioff

Looking forward to your recommendations, I will be reading at least one of these books in February.

I haven't read most of these, but Things Fall Apart is definitely worth reading. I give that one a nudge.

I say Mrs. Palfrey at the Claremont. (I haven't read it but do like Elizabeth Taylor).

The only title I've read is A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers. While I'm not going so far as to denudge it, I would definitely move it to the bottom of the pile. Sorry to be negative!

I'd have to second the relocation of A Concise Chinese-English Dictionary for Lovers! I do love and recommend Things Fall Apart though.

Gotta be Things Fall Apart - moving, enlightening and beautifully written.

I second Mrs Palfrey. I have read it, and it's excellent and rather sad.

I would nudge The Ministry of Special Cases and Troll. Both excellent

I've read three of these and of the three would recommend Mrs Palfrey. Regarding the other two, I enjoyed a Concise Chinese-English Dictionary but wouldn't recommend it because so many people found it entirely irritating! Things Fall Apart, I read twenty years ago and remember it being a powerful read but am rather sketchy on the details!

ok - I'm definitely starting with Things Fall Apart and proceeding to Mrs Palfrey at the Claremont. I'll move on to Troll and The Ministry of Special Cases later in the month.

I second The Ministry of Special Cases. It's the only book from your nudge list I've read, but it's very good.

Just to update - I've managed to read Things Fall Apart and The Ministry of Special Cases. Both were really good, though I especially loved The Ministry of Special Cases.
