I just spent a few minutes creating a collection of the last 200 books I read and excluding all other collections from connections/recommendations. I'm really happy with both my new MWYB list and my new recommendations list, so I'd recommend everyone give it a try.
I also started an RSI thread suggesting that this recommendations list should be created automatically, though I can't say I have high hopes for anything coming of that.
