The iconic vehicle of the British Army's Reconnaissance Corps during World War II, the Humber Light Reconnaissance Car (LRC) saw service in several theatres of war between 1941 and 1945. The Humber LRC gave excellent service to the Reconnaissance Corps with its agility, speed and height proving to be invaluable assets to the units that operated it. A workman-like edition in the series as the author examines an emergency-service vehicle that served mostly with an emergency-service corps. I mark this booklet down a bit as Osprey has run better art in its works. I will also note my amusement at the author's description of the engine driving these armored cars as being "powerful;" while it's all relative one has to smile in this day and age at an engine developing about 25 hp being described as "powerful." Given the choice between this and the author's Osprey "Elite" booklet on the Reconnaissance Corps I'd rather have the second. (
