A funny spinoff of the original story. Funny and different. A second point-of-view. "Dead as a door nail." I read this book every year to my students. Talk about a story from a different perspective! Alexander T. Wolf is just misunderstood, is he really big and bad? You be the judge! This is a fun real aloud and skill work around point of view, perspective, persuasion, and fairy tales. This fun picture book puts a spin on the Three Little Pigs. According to the wolf this is the real story. The students will enjoy the twist and will have their own opinions on which story is the true tell. This book has fabulous pictures and is designed in a way to keep the reader engaged and waiting to turn the page to see what comes next and what the picture will be. This book can easily be incorporated into a fairy tale unit. There are several stories of the Three Little Pigs and they can all be read easily and then compared and contrasted. There is a lot that you can do with this book. One of the best things is to have students have conversations, share opinions, and then possibly go and write their own version of the same story and then publish and share out. This book can be a unit all by itself. This will definitely be a book that the students would enjoy hearing more than once and it will encourage readers to read several versions of classic tales.
