Perfect introduction to the Civil War. It is a YA book, but in my opinion when you are going to tackle a subject that has a lot of players, details and long history and you know little to nothing about it, except the odd fact or two, a YA book to begin your journey is a fantastic idea.

Now that I have the basics down from 1856-1860 and Ft Sumter, I am ready to move on to a slightly more in depth study of the Civil War.
