i would be wary of sharing this in my class because it is religious ( )

Tomie dePaola does an incredible job both writing and illustrating this religious folklore. dePaola uses beautiful colors for the illustrations in the book. He also uses easy words for beginning readers. Overall this book is fun for young readers to read. The words that dePaoloa uses make the reader feel as if they are in the story with Christopher. This would be a good story to read to children in a religion class. ( )

This book tells the story about a giant named Reprobus. He wished to serve the greatest and most powerful king in the world, Jesus Christ. In order to find the king he was told that he must carry anyone who asks him across a river and Jesus Christ will show himself.

This book is a good children’s book. It is very easy to follow and has a great story behind it. I think this book would grasp the students’ attention because of the giant that is in the story.

In the classroom I would like to read aloud a couple more stories about giants and get the students’ interpretation about them. They will also draw a picture of what they believe a giant would look like.
