I really enjoyed this book. The first thing I really liked about it was how the pictures were actually photographs of the dogs on the farm. If the book talked about a dog herding sheep, then the picture would show the dog doing exactly that. It really helps paint a mental picture in the child's head. The second reason I liked this book was the language the author used. The sentences were short and easy for children to understand. For example, on one page its says "Lenore is carefree and fun-loving. She would rather eat than work." Children can comprehend these sorts of sentences and can really understand what is going on. The big idea of this book is to teach children about the jobs of each dog on the farm. ( )

Gives descriptions of different kinds of working dogs. Picture are adorable! ( )
