The art is gorgeous, the story is about karma and humbling yourself, and the plot twist is great. There is a lot of big works, and the art's very detailed, a lot of it goes over kid's heads, but teenagers and adults definitely can enjoy reading this book to younger kids or with adults. Pinduli is a hyena who lives on the African savanna. Her mama tells her she is the most beautiful hyena ever. But Dog, Lion, and Zebra tease her about her big ears, her fuzzy mane, and her wiggly stripes and make her feel ugly. Poor Pinduli just wants to disappear. When she rolls in the dust to make her stripes disappear she creates a case of mistaken identity with the other animals that provides a wonderful solution. After the story, the author provides information about the hyena family and interesting facts about animals that live in Africa. Pinduli is a hyena that is made fun of for her ears, coat, and stripes by various animals. After she soaks her fur and the dust sticks to her the other animals think she's a ghost and Pinduli plays along to get them to find out why they are saying mean things and tricks them into leaving her some food from every meal. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
