Finally, the Boys have a series the Girls love to read! In this fourth installment, Harlowe is surfing in the South Pacific with his little brother, Dodger, when Riverstone calls in a panic from the Omini Prime quadrant. All life on the planet Gazz is about to be wiped out by a lethal gamma ray burst in 11 days. According to Wiz, saving the planet with Millawanda's force field is a slam dunk. The plan was going smoothly until hostile forces dropped out of hyperspace, moments before the deadly rays struck. Battling two forces at once, Millie still saves the planet, but at a cost: her power is sucked dry! Unable to maintain orbit, Millawanda plunges into the planet's ocean. Adding to their peril, Riverstone, Lu and Sizzle have vanished and a second gamma ray burst will hit the planet in 37 days! There is a source of thermo-grym to bring back Millie, but Gazz is a 16th century planet of wind-powered ships and slithering beasts called Traas. In a race against time, Harlowe must borrow and commandeer a pirate ship to find the yellow crystals that will power Millawanda back to life before the crew, his girl, the planet and his own life are lost...… (mer)

This is a library thing early reviewer book.

this is a very cool book. I loved it, its action packed and very well written. I had a little trouble keeping up at the begining but once the story got going I couldnt put it down. This is my kind of book full of fun and imaganative characters, it kept me wanting more. I havent read the first three books but after reading this one I will definatley get my hands on the first three. I recommend this book to all fantasy lovers, you will hesitate to put this book down and it will be on your mind when its not in your hands. ( )

I received a copy of Gamadin, Book IV: Gazz from LibraryThing Early Reviewers in July 2011 and immediately went to the library to find books I through III; and I am glad I did because this series ended up being quite an adventure! At first these books seemed quite lengthy, but after finding the time to read them I was hooked. Chapters are just the right size to encourage further reading without becoming monotonous and boring,(not that the material could get boring,it was pretty exciting and fast-paced). At first I wasn't sure I would enjoy all the science fiction ("planetary space cops"), but it was surprisingly enjoyable. The story line and the characters were really well developed and each character had their own "vibe", it was easy to imagine them existing, especially with the dialogues between them. Descriptions of Gazz and the ship were great, liked the overall feel I got from them. I do believe that someone could read this as a single volume and still understand and enjoy it but I would recommend finding time to enjoy it as a whole. Can't wait to see if Tom Kirkbride adds another volume to this already exciting adventure. ( )

I won a copy thru Library Thing and I enjoyed this book a lot. It is geared towards young adult readers and it is a little easier to read thru it. Usually I don’t care for science fiction books, but this one is an exception. I think that because it is for younger readers, it makes it a little bit easier to follow and quicker to digest. The book is rather long, but the more you read, the sooner you want to get to the end. ( )

Gamadin Book IV: Gazz by Tom Kirkbride is about a group of people from the 54th Century that are part of a very special ancient police force of the cosmos called Gamadin. The sole mission of Gamadin is to defend the the freedom an happiness of all peaceful planets everywhere regardless of origin or wealth.

This fourth book has the Gamadin trying to save a 16th Century planet called Gazz. All life on this planet is about to be wiped out by a lethal gamma ray burst and Gamadin must use the force field of their ship, the Milliwanda, to help save the planet. But, there is a problem and the ship loses power because it is sucked dry by saving Gazz. The ship has to be landed on this 16th century planet while the crew attempts to find a fuel source to get the Milliwanda back into space. I am not going to give any spoilers here.

Now, I didn't read the first three books of this series, but I had no trouble whatsoever reading book 4. It is a standalone story even though it part of a series. I have to say, I love fantasy stories and this one is no different. It has a lot of tight moments for the crew of the Milliwanda and many interesting events occur.

I would recommend to anyone that likes fantasy pick this up and read it. I am even going back and get the other three books so I can read the entire series. ( )

Wow I was a little lost at first because I had not read the first 3 but i got up fast. I really enjoyed reading this book. Now I plan to back and read the first 3.
Simon is a actor who wins an academy award first of the book. Than you meet his girl friend Sizzle who is beautiful and tall and not of Earth. Than you meet Harlowe and his brother Doger out surfing somewhere all a lone in an ocean and Harlowe gets taken off his surf board buy a big animal that sometimes looks like a dog and others a dragon. Next you meet Harlowe girl friend who comes in a ship to pick them up and tell them that they are needed to rescue a planet.
Then the adventure and action start and continues through the end.
The Gamadin long ago were the police force of the galaxy helping planets stay free from war and takeover of little guys by the big guys.. They did such a great job they were made themseleves out of a job. Some how the group of teenagers from california in previous books became part of the new uprising Gamadin and they have a powerful big spaceship and fight dictatorship where ever they find it. they are strong and have a lot of gadgets in their suits that heal them, feed them, keep safe guns, animals, knife cant hurt them when thier suits are powered up.
They get to the planet instead of a month they have only days to get their shield fix to stop a big force wave from destroying the gazz planet. The shield works but thier ship is without power and they find a second wave will come in a month. They barely make it to a cove by a Island before thier ship is all out of power. some members where on a small ship and it broke apart and they made it to 3 pods landing a different part of the planet. The Captain of that ship did not have time to make it in life pod so he crashed hurling to land and his suit was able to help him to survive over 2000 degrees as he landed a way from the pods. So they rescue the planet once but need to find power to rescue the second time, they also have to find their friends and rescue them while they cant let anyone see thier advances when they are just using wind sails to power thier ships.
So Harlow hijacks a pirate ship and they rig some of thier technolgy into the ship that the people on gazz dont see as they are off to try and save everyone. Thier are so many story lines that cross each other it works really well and hard to explain but I could not put the book down spent the day reading it. highly recommend this series at least this book but I am going to read the first and next year is a long time to wait till book 5 is out. I was given this book in a exchange of honest review. ( )
