Max Damage comes up with a plan to stop Plutonian, however before he can enact it, Plutonian is already defeated by aliens that Hornet made a deal with (see Iredeemable volume 5). The Paradigm come find Max and try to strike a deal with him to help Coalville in exchange for Max's continued good behavior. Other forces at work make this deal seem almost impossible. I felt like some of Paradigm's personalities were very different in this graphic novel then in Irredeemable, however since Irredeemable is a little bit ahead, perhaps something changes in that book that makes the characters change, so I'm willing to withhold judgement.
Poor Annie finally seems to go over the edge in this book. It was really only a matter of time, but how she went was definitely sad. I will admit it took me a while to realize that Alana wasn't playing both sides, she didn't know who was working for who. (That's what happens when you wait to long between volumes I suppose.) I can't wait to see where this story is going. ( )
