NCLA Review: Memorizing scripture is almost a lost art today but there is no greater power than having the Word of God at our disposal when the need arises. Whether it be in a time of crisis, during an attack from the enemy or even in a time of praise, it is vital to have the Holy Scriptures committed to memory and be able to share with those who are in need or to give glory to our Heavenly Father. The authors have carefully chosen more than 100 Bible verses that are applicable to what they see as some of the most important (39) issues we face in our lives. These include Adversity, Assurance, Courage, Eternal Life, Forgiveness, The Glory of God, Grief, Heaven, Hope, Love, Peace, Temptation, and The Will of God.
Each chapter begins with the Scripture that is to be memorized and a commentary follows that gives insight into the passage. At the end of the chapter there are at least five thought-provoking questions that lead the reader to further exploration of the Scriptures and the topic. These could be used as study group questions. There is a second part to this book that has additional Bible verses to memorize for the topics that are covered in the first part.
