Splat goes to his first day of school, Spoon learns to appreciate being a spoon, Arnie avoids getting eaten, and Hondo and Fabian enjoy a day in their lives as pets. This Playaway consists of four stories and two short songs, running just under a total of forty minutes. Each story is divided into different tracks, so a listener can navigate which story they wish to hear but cannot start from the middle of a story, although they can pause and resume a story. These stories share a common theme of a sense of belonging, and characters both question the status quo or feel content in their situations. Each story has a different narrator and background music, giving them a distinct sound and style. Without illustrations, the music carries along the story, giving the words tempo or depicting actions through sound. Short songs with relevant lyrical content provide an interlude, and the last story winds down with a bedtime theme, which can serve as a possible transition for a listener’s own bedtime. These audio books can benefit struggling readers, or can be enjoyed alongside the physical book, which is not included. The Playway manufacturer recommends this product for ages five to nine, but due to the story content’s intended audience as well as the “storytime” read aloud nature of the audio tracks, this product would probably reach a younger audience. This collection of audio books is recommended for lending collections serving children ages three to seven. ( ) inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
