I enjoyed their relationship and their banter and their journey. I enjoyed how in this book we saw more than Lexie's point of view. It was refreshing to see Ty fall for Lexie from his perspective. It was easier to see how much he loved her since we got to see things from his point of view. But there was a lot going on. And a lot of times, there ended up being what seemed like pages of monologue as someone explained something. So it made the book drag in many places. However, this was a good way to introduce the next mountain man. I am curious to read about Chace's story now. There are a couple of places in the story that tend to ramble. This seems to be a Kristen Ashley trait as she loves to give great detail information about the surroundings of her characters. So even though I list it as bad, it is also good. You easily visualize the surroundings and the supporting characters in each story of hers you read. Lexie and Ty are awesome characters and you are immediately drawn into their story. The suspense in this one is well depicted and has some great tense moments. However, I felt there were some crucial moments that were a bit rushed and other areas that could have been sped up. This is my reason for 4 instead of 5 stars. There is loads of snark and attitude. I love the words that come out of Lexie's mouth. Here is one of my favorites. “Ty, it comes down to it, I’ll be lying to dirty cops, and everyone knows a double negative is a positive.” There is also plenty of adult steamy romance. Lexie and Ty set the pages on fire. It's official. I am addicted to Kristen Ashley books. I enjoyed this, just not as much as the first two in the series. I think mostly because the romance was not as front and center here. The parts I liked best were the parts where the romantic relationship was being worked out, even when Ty was being an ass; that was good riveting reading. I do have to say that I was uncomfortable with the way that Ty referred to his wife as 'pussy and bitch'. I know that may just be me because I have very sensitive knee jerk reactions to men disrepecting women and this just hit it pretty hard. Other problems I had were: I'm really getting tired of everyone talking without using pronouns. I mentioned it in my review of [b:Sweet Dreams|11227040|Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain, #2)|Kristen Ashley|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51d67A3D1sL._SL75_.jpg|16152935]. When one character talks that way, it adds to individualized characterization. When everyone talks that way, I have trouble a) telling characters apart and b) I have trouble suspending disbelief because I know that in reality very few people talk that way (except in Portugal where dropping pronouns is an integral part of the language, but I digress) and c) it pulls me out of the story trying to parse the sentences. Another problem is that the guys sometimes talk so cryptically that I h ad trouble knowing just what it was that they were doing about trying to get Ty cleared of his criminal sentence. It was just a bit smoke and mirrors to say that "Tate was working on it." Also I think having part of the story in Lexie's first person POV and part in Ty's third person POV didn't really work as well as the lovely 1st person POV from Laurie in Sweet Dreams. I would have preferred either all of one or all of the other. I did like having Ty's view point, so I think that switching POVs was fine they just needed to both be in the same tense. Still even though I'm only giving it 3 stars, I did enjoy it and am looking forward to reading the rest of this author's work. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
