When the potato says that he is also bored because he has to hang out with a kid, she lets the potato know just how un-boring kids are! Parents will love this book, and will read it to their kids when they say "I'm bored." I would use it in my classroom to get students to think of all their abilities. The illustrations are simple and cartoon-like but very fun and appropriate. The text swirls around the page and becomes part of the illustration. It is a uncomplicated but fun read. ( ![]() Excellent for a summer storytime or call & response storytime. Had to get this because of the title. My kids knew better than to admit they were bored - if they did, they were given tasks. I can see the appeal of this to the right audience though. I just think it's a shame there is a right audience. The world is full of so many things to do - and that is the point of the book, so ok, fine. I guess my main problem with it is that I can see giving the book to the child who says 'I'm bored' and the child will either feel preached to or not even see how the book applies to them. Truly, this review needs the caveat: YMMV. A potato makes the girl realize that kids are not boring at all! The theme is that we should always use our imagination and we can be capable of anything. It's hard not to love a book where a girl tries to convince a potato she's not boring. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
