The language is simple and the illustrations are enhanced with little cutouts and variations in page shape. The ending is rather violent though when the worms get their tails eaten off. ( ) The illustrations are fantastic, and I love how the food the worms eat becomes interactive to the reader. However, I'm not thrilled about this book. It is cute, and a great way to discuss sharing, but I'm not convinced that the best way to discuss sharing is through the typical heterosexual relationship/wedding. Also, do worms continue to live once half of their body is eaten off? Age range: 1 - 6 Years (B&N) Jonathan and Martha are two lonely earthworms that find each other in a fallen pear. They get tangled up and have to learn to share everything and the story continues from there. Text is large and easy to read making this a great book for young readers to practice on. The illustrations take up each entire page and are done in bright, vibrant, jewel-tone colors in a crayon on paper style. The story is engaging and made more interesting through the use of cutout pages that add some dimensionality to the visual presentation. Young children will like the story and the colors, but they will totally get a giggle out of the cuts and what they portray. Highly Recommended. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
