This book addresses many different aspects of exploring the world. It tells the reader about explorers from history, why and how exploring has evolved, and what the future of exploring entails. It mentions explorers from all over the world, and it mentioned some I had never heard of, such as Captain Cook and Ibn Battuta, so this book was great, especially since I love history. The book also has lots of pictures with captions and is organized in a manner that is very clear and less overwhelming than the Magic School Bus book. Another aspect of the book I liked was the thought you find at the end: "Today, most of the world is known and charted, and exploring has become more about endurance and breaking records than discovering new places." The book also mentions that people are fascinated by the idea of traveling to Mars and traveling deeper into the Earth's crust, so there is still much to discover. The big idea of this book is to be open to the many things you can discover if you go on a journey. It also encourages readers to become scientists or researchers so they can learn more about the world around them. ( ) inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
