Well, I wrote a review of this yesterday, and now I don't see it. Hmmm. Review gremlins. Bottom line, I enjoyed the book. It was fun. It started off "too cute" but less than a third of the way in it seemed to even out. True emotions were expressed, there was a natural (albeit super speeded up) relationship arc. Ms. Watson has a nice voice. Her characters are likeable. I read Sweet Inspirations a while back. This seemed more polished, more edited, tighter somehow, in a good way. Now, I gave it four stars, but I really REALLY don't like unprotected sex in romantic novellas/novels. A quick "I'm clean; are you clean?" in the throes of passion just doesn't cut it for me. Yeah, these are adult books and yeah, adults should know better. But we all know as 14-year-olds (even younger) we were probably sneaking these books that we are reading now. I am not saying devote a whole chapter to safe sex, but for goodness sake, you can make a condom scene sexy and informative and then everybody wins. And pill or no, pregnancy is honestly the least of the possible repercussions. Marcus the mountain man and Ami the city slicker meet in a small town in Vermont and sparks fly. Her family lives here, her life in Boston is crumbling and her job vanished. The easy rapport, the friendly banter, the varied nicknames all go together to make this a fun read. The hero and heroine just click together. If you like your men with facial and body hair this book is a must read. Marcus is all male and Ami is high maintenence woman. She however has a way with the locals and makes some changes she feels are necessary for a happy life. Coffee and wine. This novella was a quick read. I just couldn't put it down. Recommended. I wasn't in love with it - it was a little light and sweet for my tastes - but that could be because I've been reading crack-like crazy books lately and my taste-buds could be damaged. I enjoyed the two main characters but I wasn't the biggest Ami fan. She was a bit too sarcastic and complaining (for me) to people she didn't know very well. She seemed to have a complaint on her lips quite frequently. But maybe her sense of humor and mine didn't jive. I really liked Marcus. He was kinda hot and very kind. And had patience coming out of his ears. Most of the book is pretty light and sweet...but the ending felt a little abrupt and Ami was a little mean in her actions. But I could understand that she had been sorta pushed into a relationship without time to think. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

Even if he's smart, talented, and has the hottest ass she's ever seen.Tree house builder, environmental champion, and Bulldog owner Marcus Anderson has no patience for flatlanders with an attitude. But when landscape designer Ami Jordan shows up at his log cabin, he suddenly develops a hankering for a high-maintenance city gal. Now his house looks like a jungle, his recycling is in disarray, and his libido's on fire. He's a lumberjack in love. Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |

The story, however simple, developed wonderfully. The characters were endearing without being annoying. The sob story wasn't pitiful. And the sassy banter was adorably snarky. Pure. Win!
And I wouldn't reject a lumberjack if one happened to cross my path in the NYC streets. LOL Gimme some Marcus, dammit.
Very quick, fun, funny and romantically sweet read. Recommended. ( )
