In his second book about Tim Tebow, Denver Post sports columnist Mike Klis writes the unauthorized biography of football player Tim Tebow. This is a fact-filled chapter book with several color photographs. The author is obviously a personal fan of Tebow and knows his subject well. Klis makes good arguments that Tebow is a highly skilled, hardworking player. The author strives to be well-rounded by including side bars unrelated to football. For example, facts on the population of some U.S. cities, black holes in space, and dyslexia are included. There is a very brief discussion of how Tebow has handled his dyslexia. Although written for young sports fans, the book does not talk down to them. The text is heavy and the language is sophisticated, but the content will attract even reluctant or lower level readers. Books like this are just what teachers and librarians hope to find for those types of readers.

The influences of Tebow’s Christian faith and family on his career and his life add depth to the story. The chapter dedicated to explaining Tebowmania is one of the best chapters because it really delves into Tebow’s personality. Of course, the author explains “Tebowing.” Throughout the book, Klis shows how Tebow has handled critics and negativity. Even readers who are not football fans will enjoy this book. Be sure to take the Tebow challenge at the end of the book. Highly recommended for school, public, and home libraries.
