One of my first romance books (trying to explore new genres). It is a was a fun and quick read. Pacing was somewhat off, all the important events seemed to occur at the wrong times and certain themes/problems that could have been drawn out for effect were lost and then themes/problems that should have been resolved immediately lasted through the entire story. Characters were interesting until a point when it became apparent that they are all exactly the same- they're just dressed up with different names and circumstances.
Many people have yelled at me for trying to find quality fiction in a romance novel. I think I'll have to read more of the genre to know what the standard quality is. I'm not of the camp that believes that romance novels must equal lower quality writing.

Despite its flaws, it kept my attention and I enjoyed my time reading it. Will read more to familiarize myself with the genre and consider whether it is one I would want to represent. ( )
