Stone Barrington is no stranger to schemes and deceptions of all stripes--as an attorney for the premier white-shoe law firm Woodman & Weld, he's seen more than his share. But when he travels to Europe under highly unusual circumstances, Stone finds himself at the center of a mystery that is, even by his standards, most peculiar. Two unexpected invitations may be the first clues in an intricate puzzle Stone must unravel to learn the truth, a puzzle that will lead him deep into the rarefied world of European ultrawealth and privilege, where billionaires rub elbows with spooks, insider knowledge is traded at a high premium, and murder is never too high a price to pay for a desired end. It soon becomes clear that beneath the bright lights of Europe lurks a shadowy underworld, and its only rule is deadly ambition.… (mer)

Stone finds himself in Paris with no idea how he got there or why he's there. The usual murders, tight situations and flings ensue. Then Stone goes back to the States where it's more of the same.
This isn't to denigrate the story...it's to say that Stuart Woods appears to be back in form. The last few Stone books have been lacking but it looks like maybe all is not lost for Stone Barrington fans. Guess we'll have to wait for the next book to see. ( )

Stone gets drugged no his way to Paris and we are off on his new adventure. The bad guys this time are Russian and seeking to take over The Arrington. Lots of action, sex, and narrow escapes but a good book for a beachy afternoon. ( )

Stone wakes up in Paris with no memory of the last four days of his life. He meets super rich Frenchman DeBois and Sweedish Helga, the book's love interest. People trying to kill him. Dino and Viv get married; Holly moves out to focus on her job. Amazingly, Helga lives through the experience. Dino and Viv get married. This book ties up the past and future of the series. ( )

Synopsis: Stone wakes up in Paris with no memory of the last four days of his life. He finds himself embroiled with a billionaire businessman, two mysterious women, and people trying to kill him. Dino and Viv get married; Holly moves out to focus on her job rather than on Stone. The Russians want the Addington Hotel and try to get it any way possible and a blood bath ensues.
Review: This is an easy read and the story is interesting. It ties with the previous and subsequent books. ( )
