Story: 7 / 10 Characters: 8 Setting: 8 Prose: 7 The book starts to lose direction towards the end. Mainly, this is because it is trying to align with WOOL, but that doesn't make it reasonable. Still the first 2/3 are fantastic and a brilliant commentary on aggressive, pre-emptive war policies. Second book in Wool series (aka Silo) it was a little hard to follow but I guess I got it. Still kind of confused about the why. No one comes out with a manifesto that clearly outlines the position. We just find out that most everyone is programmed to die because otherwise everyone will kill each other anyway. Okaaay. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

In 2007, the Center for Automation in Nanobiotech (CAN) outlined the hardware and software platforms that would one day allow robots smaller than human cells to make medical diagnoses, conduct repairs, and even self-propagate. In the same year, the CBS network re-aired a program about the effects of propranolol on sufferers of extreme trauma. A simple pill, it had been discovered, could wipe out the memory of any traumatic event. At almost the same moment in humanity's broad history, mankind discovered the means for bringing about its utter downfall. And the ability to forget it ever happened.
