This book is written from an in-universe perspective and provides all the information an Imperial Guardsman needs in service to the God-Emperor. It has sections on the history, structure, equipment, forms, and enemies of the Imperial Guard. A final section contains common prayers and litanies needed by the average guardsman.

As a fan of the Warhammer 40,000 universe I enjoyed reading this book. A lot of the information expands the details of the universe and gives a peek into what life as a guardsman would be like. Of course since this book is written as if it were issued by the Imperium it is equal parts propaganda and there is a lot of humor in the blatant lies especially in the section about the Imperium's enemies.

This book is well written and nicely laid out. I recommend it to any fan of the Warhammer 40,000 universe. ( )
