The World is Waiting for You by Barbara Kerley leans more to the baby book style. It is very simple in that there are only a few words on each page and very big photographs. This book is composed of National Geographic photographs with one person exploring some aspect of nature. Photos include: looking outside of a window, walking through the forest, playing in water, swimming with dolphins, playing in the mud, digging up bones, gazing at the stars, outer space, mountains, trees, cliffs, beaches, crystal caverns and so forth. Some of the text is in the form of a question.

I love the photos in the book and the fact that it presents a little info at a time and has questions. Pictures say a thousand words. Because of this, and the fact that all of these pictures vary from page to page, an imaginative reader could create a new story with every page. A creative writing student could come up with several ideas for their next writing assignment. I am sure children will love this book because it is so vivid, but adults will as well because the pictures are of real life.

All of the places can be explored, though many people never venture out to do so. This book would motivate the reader to go outside and explore new territory. It also stimulates the mind and takes you to places you would never see if you had not picked up the book. There is a whole other world out there. It is just waiting to be explored.
