Mitchell and Black's condensed history of psychoanalysis was a stimulating read, however, even after reading a short text like Bettelheim's Freud and Man's Soul it is clear that the two authors had a ( I would say) misguided agenda with Freud that made it difficult for me to appreciate their explanations and synthesis of theory. That is, if the premises with which they were starting the investigation were off then the whole enterprise felt dubious. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
Freud's concepts have become a part of our psychological vocabulary: unconscious thoughts and feelings, conflict, the meaning of dreams, the sensuality of childhood. But psychoanalytic thinking has undergone an enormous expansion and transformation over the past fifty years. With Freud and Beyond, Stephen A. Mitchell and Margaret J. Black make contemporary psychoanalytic thinking--the body of work that has been done since Freud--available for the first time. Richly illustrated with case examples, this lively, jargon-free introduction makes modern psychoanalytic thought accessible at last. Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |
