this book is a wild ride. like. wow. it's fucked up. and to think it only gets worse from here. but reading this after having read fade is so interesting 'cause i don't think i'd fully appreciate how much they grow and change and develop throughout the books otherwise. like the beginning of their relationship is wonderful and they truly start out as being friends and they buy each other books and tea and there's a lot of banter and they're adorable, but then at one point it all becomes about sex. and i'm so glad they notice that in the next book. i am so so glad that the relationship drama is resolved within the first two books and the other two are mostly free of it, in the other two there's just a lot of external drama that really just solidifies their relationship. i am so glad that they are really concerned with trying to have as healthy a relationship as possible, and that by the end they understand how important communication is. and thanks to that we get the time they spend in vermont, which is like.... the best thing ever. even better than monterrey. cause monterrey was fucked up okay. really fucked up. but it's really nice reading that part after knowing everything that happens in the latter books cause everything feels so much clearer. and i was so much more able to appreciate some things. such as kassian. and emilio. yes it was nice.
in conclusion this is one of the best books i've ever read and an amazing start to an incredible series and i would recommend it to anyone who loves long fucked up but sort of kind of realistic series. ( )

I loved this. I have to agree with everyone else, it was a bit long but it was still fantastic. And, it ended happily enough which kinda surprised me, in a good way.

I'm ready for the next one!! ( )

Can I just say WOW? I tend to stick to books that are a LOT less shorter than this one was but I have to say that I read this rather long book without even noticing its length. The characters Sin and Boyd are so well written, that I found myself being greedy for more.

The author had me spellbound I must say, even though some of the issues that faced the characters were not really dealt with as thoroughly as I would have liked, the overall work was great.

A must read for those who like me love to see broken men, who find a little slice of their happily ever after. ( )

Ok, I might get back to a more detailed review later, but I am literally exhausted. So, 5 stars for the world building, the complexity of the plot, and the characterizations. It was so detailed and thought out and dammit free I can't fault the authors for that. That being said, I have never been so glad to finish a book that I was enjoying. I truly feel at least 30% of this could have been deleted and it still would have been amazing. I never skim, never, but I just couldn't help it. After a certain point, I couldn't take it anymore. Then, I would get to those moments or passages that were so emotional and enthralling that I had to read every word several times. Still despite all that, I just can't give this book more than a 3. I'm still looking forward to the rest of the series though and plan to finish it. ( )
