In another installment to the Bytes of Life addendum to their Countermmeasure Series, Almeida and Aubrey have provided fans of the series with more insight, a few clues, and reinforced the love for the series and the characters of Cass and Trev. For new readers to the series and the shorts, this one will provide all the highlights of the full series, while introducing a love story that is as palpable as it is romantic.

Starting with a quotation from Yeats, “It is love that I am seeking for, But of a beautiful, unheard-of kind that is not in this world”. The entirety of the depth of love between Cassie and Trevor is wrapped up in those simple lines, and while Trevor is making little strides to share more of his now painful memories of his past, we see that Trevor could settle for nothing less than the unheard of love, for that was the sort of love he experienced growing up.

If you are contemplating a series that has it all: romance, action, mystery and above all characters that will come to life and poke at you as you read – Countermeasure and it’s Bytes of Life are certainly it. Try this byte out, and see if the characters don’t move or excite you. You will be glad you did.
