"För mycket länge sedan smiddes Maktens ringar och den främsta ringen - Härskarringen - lyckades den onde trollkarlen Sauron lägga beslag på. När han förlorade den hamnade den så småningom hos hoberna, ett småväxt godmodigt folk i Midgård. Men Sauron söker överallt efter ringen som kan ge honom makt över ont och gott.
