While this wasn't the incredibly deep, emotionally wounding book that On Second Thought was, and they are by no means even in the same ball park, this book was still delightfully swet, with characters I adored that tugged on my heartstrings, and a few deeper plot points in there, too. ( )

I had originally picked up this book first, but put it down again once I realized it was the second in a series, and read that one instead. I loved the first, so sped back to The Perfect Match -- and loved it even more.

There's something about Honor that made me like her more than Faith - oh, right, she wasn't a paranoid stalker when the book started. That immediately gets her points above her sister.

I am not terribly crazy with Higgin's obvious conservatism regarding gender roles and behavior. Honor refers to her behavior as "slutty", and most of her actions at the beginning of the book were due to her "biological clock" and there are some kind of annoying asides during the narrative from her fast-withering eggs on how she needs to jump Tom's bones. Taking the pointless transgender scene from book 1...

However, on to the good. I loved the characters. Just adored them, from the crazy grandmother to the emo teenage boy who just needed to be wanted. And Higgins can write a damn good love story.

Though I'm a bit perplexed at how large this small town is, with a boxing gym, and a hospital, and a nursing home all in city limits. ( )

I can't believe I stayed up all night reading this book. Honor and Tom had an oddly compelling, albeit thoroughly frustrating and exhausting, story. ( )

May be my favorite of her books ( )

Personally, I think it was a little far-fetched.
But I did like it, mostly. ( )
