When I requested this I didn't know it was part one of a series. That was strike one. Strike two came when many parts of this seemed to be repetitive and dragged on. I certainly didn't hate the book. I mean tattoos, piercings, cupcakes, pinups, hotness galore, what's to hate? I just found myself wishing for a little less detail at times. I found myself thinking yes I know this, you told me this already and that diminished my enjoyment a little. That and knowing that this wasn't a complete story. Stupid cliffhangers. Tragic accident brutal murders survivor’s guilt panic attacks OCD tatoos piercings art isolation hot sex nasty exs If you’re into all the angst and secret keeping that NA romances have become then this is the book for you. I’ve listed all the things I consider “hot buttons” for the genre above. I’m halfway through and the drama has just escalated again. A lot of it could be diffused with heartfelt conversation. If you aren’t tired of the “You’ll stop liking me if you find out I’m not the perfect person I’m pretending to be,” plot device keep reading. This feels like it could be a start of series, there are a couple of people at the shops that would make good/typical main characters for more books. My copy needs editing some more before release. It also needs to have it’s formatting checked. Many of the words have spaces in them, in the wrong places. Tenley, a student, and Hayden, a tattoo shop owner, are drawn to each other despite their own pain and horror-filled pasts. This was a quick read, and while there were several points where I thought I was completely DONE with it, I couldn't quite put it down. I have some major reservations in certain regards, though. Mainly, Hayden's behavior raised so many red flags. I kept thinking if this guy were dating my sister or my friend, I would beg her to cut ties. He was incredibly, nearing dangerously possessive. There was at least one time when he forbid her from wearing an outfit in public because other men would look at her. It raised my hackles, and I couldn't fall for him the way Tenley did. However, I think he was starting to see how unacceptable his behavior was, so I'm really hoping the author continues to grow and mature him in the next book. I'm not holding my breath. This isn't quite a complaint, but food for thought. Throughout the whole book, I had a suspicion that this was a re-worked fanfiction. The pacing, the amount of sex, some of the characterization. Again, no complaints here; it might not be everyone's cup of tea. So while I'm not gushing over this one, I would more than likely read the next book, if anything to satisfy my need for SOME sort of ending, which this one lacked. Seriously, there was zero resolution. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

An emotional love story that follows the touch-and-go relationship of Hayden and Tenley; two young people who desperately want to love and be loved but are afraid to completely let go of their pasts. Their body art is hot. Their chemistry is even hotter. From her dark hair sweeping below her waist to her soft, sexy curves, Tenley Page intrigues tattoo artist Hayden Stryker in a way no one else ever has...especially when she asks him to ink a gorgeous, intricate design on her back. Yet for all her beauty, there is something darkly tragic and damaged about Tenley that Hayden is everything. Covered in ink and steel, Hayden is everything Tenley has never dared to want, awakening a desire to explore more than the art adorning his stunning body. Trapped by a past that leaves her screaming from nightmares, Tenley sees Hayden as the perfect escape. Although he has secrets too, if they both keep themselves guarded perhaps their intense physical connection will remain only that. But nothing, not even passion, can keep them safe from their pasts... Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |
