This book entitled My Little Golden Book of Manners is in the series, Little Golden Books, written by Peggy Parish. I think it is a good book that teaches children what manners are, where to use them, how to use them, and why to use them. It also teaches good hygiene. It uses animals and children to teach the many different manners children should use everyday.
I like this book because many times children are not taught good manners at home by their parents and this book will help them not to feel awkward in different situations. Even though the book was written in 1962 and the dress of the children is old-fashioned, it is not outdated and still applies in our world today.
This book could be used in many different situations. For example, it could be used for a lesson on manners, hygiene, and even for a lesson on getting along. Even if the age of the children is pre-reading, the pictures tell the story all by itself. ( )
