Differentiating Instruction With Menus: Algebra I/II offers high school math teachers everything needed to create a student-centered learning environment based on choice. This book uses six different types of menus that students can use to select exciting advanced level products that they will develop so teachers can assess what has been learned-instead of using a traditional worksheet format. Topics addressed include numbers, algebra basics, exponents, graphs, functions, polynomials, and various equations typically included in the algebra I/II curriculum. Differentiating Instruction With Menus: Algebra I/II contains attractive reproducible menus, each based on the levels of Bloom's Revised taxonomy as well as incorporating different learning styles. These menus can be used to guide students in making decisions as to which products they will develop after studying a major concept or unit.… (mer)

I am quite sure I reviewed this ages ago and couldn't get it to save and publish the review. At this point, I don't recall enough about it to review it properly. It seemed like a good book. ( )

As a librarian, I bought Differentiating Instruction With Menus: Algebra I/II for our high school math teachers peer tutors as resource material. Everything needed to create a student-centered learning environment based on choice is included here. Six different types of menus are used with topics addressing: numbers, algebra basics, exponents, graphs, functions, polynomials, and various equations typically included in the algebra I/II curriculum. These reproducible menus, are based on the levels of Bloom's Revised taxonomy and incorporate different learning styles. None of our teachers are pursing this style in their current classes but it is resource for thought and a good addition to our library. ( )

This is a great resource for Algebra teachers who need resources to challenge their most advanced learners while still allowing for the low-level Learner's to experience success. I wouldn't use this on an extremely regular basis, but probably will use it several times throughout the year. ( )

For teachers dealing with students with a wide range of skills, this book is invaluable. The idea of incorporating choice into the learning path is well thought out and presented. ( )

Have already put some of this material into my math curriculum. This is a helpful book that is organized well. What I like most about it is how well she succeeds in offering different options for different learners. I have a lot of diversity in my classroom and I have been able, so far, to find something that might work for each of my students.
