2.5 to 3 stars -- not for the writing which I loved. I really did not like the way the characters jump out of themselves to accommodate a happy ending. I mean we all know how awful it was to read Caden's betrayal. He knew Ever's true feelings about her twin, the jealousy, the love/hate, the low self esteem and he still fell into her bed when all hope was lost. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say he truly started to give up on life and just took what Eden was offering as a source of comfort and not love. He even states when it's over that he was using her to extend his love for Ever. So when it all hits the fan in a spectacular way there is nothing. No begging, no I wish I had never touched her, no details, no soothing words to reassure Ever that he loves her. He tries to leave HER! Makes her beg him to stay. Makes Ever suffer the pain of 1000 comas to get her life back with a new baby that is evidence of her husband's betrayal. I mean I expected Eden to betray everyone, but Caden was supposed to Ever's ONE TRUE LOVE. This is largest betrayal in a series I have read and it sacrificed everything to twist into a lackluster HEA. ( )
