"Miss Hyde" was a light, fluffy story - not too gothic or scary. I quite liked the way that Marion's Hyde persona manifested; quite clever and original. I thought the character development was a little off; Marion seemed at some points pretty sensible, and then would go and do ridiculous things that didn't make any sense except as plot forwarders. The dialogue in the book wasn't consistently period or modern, which was slightly irritating. However, I think if you're looking for a steampunk-lite historical-ish romance, this would be a decent choice.

Reading this also reminded me that I really can't get into steampunk - I'll keep trying, but something about the genre in general just seems so...twee. I dunno, it's weird. I want to like it, but I'm not quite there. ( )

I loved this book. The characters were relatable, and female lead was strong. The storyline was exquisite and well developed. I found myself engrossed from the beginning and wanting more at the end. This is a fast paced story that covers different genres. I look forward to reading more from this author. ( )

Miss Hyde, by Imogen Bold, opens in Vienna in 1873, where Marion becomes part of a world that is totally foreign to her. It is a world filled with mystery, politics, intrigue and romance. A chance meeting with a young man, who mistakes her for someone else, results in a quest to learn the truth about her past. Her search becomes perilous and places her in great danger. No one is who they seem to be. Multiple twists and turns keep the reader totally engaged in this fast paced romantic thriller. The author has crafted an imaginative and exciting story.
