An interesting twist on immortality with the classic romantic story of the man saved by the love of a woman. Never gets old. Moved a little quick for me but well written. Det här är en av LibraryThings förhandsrecensioner. This is the story of Julian, a psychiatrist, and Richard, a magician. Richard has lived for approximately 500 years because of a pentacle he stole from a fellow magician. He meets Julian after someone slips him a date rape drug into his drink and he is brought in by the police for a psychiatric evaluation as he was claiming to be a knight. Richard and Julian fall in love and Julian discovers Richard's secret to long life. Richard must face his past before going on to the future and Julian is very ready to help.I found the plot of the story interesting, although I found the characters shallow and without depth. It was a light easy read with a nice romance mixed in. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension

The idea of the immortality of a knight who is also a magician is intriguing. I enjoyed the story but felt some of the actions of the characters a bit unrealistic. I can’t imagine a psychiatrist going to the home of someone she has seen once based on curiosity and falling so quickly for a person that she considers perhaps out of touch with reality. I also found it difficult to believe that a man who has lived for over 500 years would fall so quickly for the psychiatrist and her tactics. This story included romance, immortality, magic, ghosts, a quest, and a search to become mortal – and I wondered why the two would want to be mortal. Anyway – I am thankful for the opportunity to have read this story and found it a light easy read. ( )
