Catch That Cookie! (utgåvan 2014)

The text structure and techniques used in this book is awesome! The use of making certain words in read and then how the notes from the gingerbread men were in a different font in color makes it easier for the reader to keep track of the story. Also, how the action words are in all uppercase helps the reader identify what is taking place. ( )

Cute story about a boy in kindergarten who makes a gingerbread cookie. Teacher plays tricks on kids to make it seem that gingerbread men are alive and moving about. Pierce County Library. Kindergarten through 2nd grade

Marshall is skeptical about all the talk about Gingerbread men running away. He stirs the dough until it's ready, decorates his cookie, and then waits, but when they open the oven, the cookies are gone. There are a series of clues as to where to find them, and Marshall eventually solves the mystery. We talked about how different our classrooms are (no doll center, no sand table), and how they are similar. A good read of a fractured fairy tale. ( )
