![]() Det finns inga diskussioner på LibraryThing om den här boken. Not bad at all. I mostly listened to this on audio book but I also read some chapters. Decent I listened to this while raking leaves and it made the job less torture and actually encouraged me to keep at it. haha. The story is meh and one of those where the details will completely fade from my memory. This took me way too long to read and I am not proud of it. I was in a reading slump and going through other books while reading this book. This book was probably my first James Patterson book and I want to read more. I never really screamed while reading books, but this one got the screaming treatment. I really thought.....(SPOILERS) Noah killed every single person just like how Jenny thought and it turns out that he wasn't really the murderer. (Please ignore my grammar) She was trying to catch Aiden, her shocking brother, thinking that the nightmares that she had of him in the Murder House were that he tried to kill her, but it was the total opposite in which he was trying to save her. Justin was kind of suspicious at the very beginning because I learned from many movies that the good guys are almost disguised as bad guys. I know this review is not very flowing, talking about this and moving on to the next. But my hands are shaking still when I finished the novel about 10 minutes ago. I am soo glad that she ended with Noah and that they have a house. Shocking opponents (I think that's the right spelling): Jenny Murphy is adopted and her mom is Gloria Willis (I think) and all the time Aiden was her brother and that she was looking at her mom when she thought that she (her mother) was pretty. Noah Walker isn't, I tell you, the bad guy of the book. I really thought he was especially when he broke into her home and went to the chief's office and immediately had an arrest warrant for her. Issac not being an accomplice with Justin, but helping Jenny in his own ways. I really thought when he said ( I don't exactly know the words) that he would take care of her. I really need to stop saying the word thought but anyways, I thought he meant it by killing her or something but it actually meant that he would do the literal thing of taking care of her. But I don't think he meant it like that tho because he just found out by Noah that she's is the adopted daughter of Hollen and Aiden's little brother. Confusing parts of the story: It was when Noah was holding the black saddlebag and going into the Murder House because throughout the story the murderer of the story was holding that bag when the victims were led to their deaths. Then, soon afterward, jumps Justin (he deserves it) and takes away his gun. He says that he killed the people. (So Confusing) I need to stop writing now I feel if I write more, it would feel more of writing about the book without the actual words of the novel and ranting about how good the book was. And people might not read the whole thing. 3 and a 1/2 stars. Too hard to suspend my disbelief. It was a good, quick read (like most Pattersons) but a few too many "really?" thoughts. inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
It has an ocean-front view, a private beach--and a deadly secret that won't stay buried. No. 7 Ocean Drive is a gorgeous, multi-million-dollar beachfront estate in the Hamptons, where money and privilege know no bounds. But its beautiful gothic exterior hides a horrific past: it was the scene of a series of depraved killings that have never been solved. Neglected, empty, and rumored to be cursed, it's known as the Murder House, and locals keep their distance. Detective Jenna Murphy used to consider herself a local, but she hasn't been back since she was a girl. Trying to escape her troubled past and rehabilitate a career on the rocks, the former New York City cop hardly expects her lush and wealthy surroundings to be a hotbed of grisly depravity. But when a Hollywood power broker and his mistress are found dead in the abandoned Murder House, the gruesome crime scene rivals anything Jenna experienced in Manhattan. And what at first seems like an open and shut case turns out to have as many shocking secrets as the Murder House itself, as Jenna quickly realizes that the mansion's history is much darker than even the town's most salacious gossips could have imagined. As more bodies surface, and the secret that Jenna has tried desperately to escape closes in on her, she must risk her own life to expose the truth--before the Murder House claims another victim. Full of the twists and turns that have made James Patterson the world's #1 bestselling writer, THE MURDER HOUSE is a chilling, page-turning story of murder, money, and revenge.
