An extremely interesting, but occasionally frustratingly written story. It was detailed and seemed almost to be talking about magical lands (especially considering the part about the unicorns...). It was hard at times to know how much of it was truth and how much was a beautiful fabrication. Overall it was a mesmerising thing to read, but with a couple of frustrating phrases repeated throughout that seemed to be there to give it the impression of being a spoken story. I'm sure this was fascinating at the time it was written - a discription of other lands which most people would never visit. To a modern audience the writing is stilted (in this land this happens and I will describe it now: followed by a somewhat prejudiced (due to culture) description) and repetitive. The style and condescending tone really age this book. Definitely does not hold up well inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
