- Picture book
- This is the true story about Jane Addams, the woman who built the Hull house in Chicago. She wanted to create a place where people in need could go to eat, bathe, learn, explore, and find shelter. She inspired both rich and poor people to partake in her charitable community. She united the community and inspired people to give back to one another.
- I loved this book. It is such an inspirational tale about a woman who wished to make the world a better place with her acts of kindness. She used her knowledge to help others without asking for anything in return. This is the perfect story about a strong woman who shaped history. ( )

The House That Jane Built: A Story About Jane Addams tells an inspiring story of a woman who utilized her privilege as a wealthy woman in the late 1800s and early 1900s to improve low income communities. Tanya Lee Stone uses beautiful imagery to emphasize the courageous soul of Jane Addams. I will be adding this book to my library, as I feel it teaches humility, perspective, and love. ( )
