In my opinion, this is a great book for young readers to read to help them get over a fear. The big idea of this book is to help children get over something they may have struggled with because it is "scary." Franklin was scared of the thunderstorms, that is until his friends helped eased his nerves and made him feel more comfortable. This is a situation that could happen in real life. The characters were believable because they acted as if they were human. The plot was great because it presented a problem, Franklin's fear of thunderstorms and walking to his friend's house, that was eventually fixed. The plot shows the characters overcoming this problem with one another! Franklin, the gentle turtle so popular with preschoolers of a generation ago, is born in digital format in this ebook faithfully reproduced from the original picture book. The illustrations appear on one side of the spread and text on the other, which works better in the print version of this text than in digital version, as preschoolers cannot see the pictures as the corresponding text is read aloud. For more success as a digital picture book, some alternative formatting would be recommended (viewed via BlueFire Reader). (99) inga recensioner | lägg till en recension
