Wait is a book about an adult paced life. The little child always wants to wait to enjoy the butterflies, the rain, the people, the icecream. In our adult world we are always in a rush and we forget to take the time to wait. I enjoyed the end of the book when the mom finally waited to enjoy the rainbow. We could learn a lot from a slower pace of life. ( )

In this world where parents we are rushing all the time, this book shows how mom trying to hurry up and her very young child is curious about everything around him. ( )

This book encourages students to be observant, and adults to be patient. I think students would love the illustrations in this book because they show why the boy wanted to wait. I think that topics like cell phone usage could be addressed in this sort of way. Suggesting that this book might be a good one for students to read with parents.
