This is a very dense, complex, sometimes confusing book with a lot of characters, so you have to commit to it if you want to make it through. Robert Wilson's writing is, as usual, tremendous, but there's almost too much going on with the plot. He pulls it together at the end, but we're left hanging (a little bit) as he is obviously setting up his next one in the series.

The book begins with a number of near-simultaneous kidnappings of the children of very important people by a group whose motives are unclear. Charles Boxer, the kidnapping consultant, is pulled in via his search for a missing person who is involved in the plot in some way. As I said, it's a complicated read and I found myself bouncing back to pages I'd already read to clarify the identities of characters I come across later.

Great writing, a wild plot, and lots of action.... a good effort and addition to the Boxer series. ( )
