This book was very good and surprisingly honest about the consequences losing a family member can have on the people left behind. I loved the fact that Karen Kingsbury wasn't afraid to have her characters struggle with God and even hate him at times. The only reason this book wasn't five stars for me personally was that the ending seemed too happy, too quickly. Perhaps I'm a little Pyrrhic in my victories, but I would have loved the remaining daughter to die and for the mother to realize just how much she sacrificed in her pursuit of revenge. Whichever way it turned out, I still think this book is great and would certainly read it again. (

I had a hard time liking the main character, Hannah, even after she came back to God. Otherwise I thought the book was a good lesson on what happens when you let hate take over your heart and why Jesus wants us to forgive others. (
