I am not going to add a spoiler but you will figure it out as you read. The end that wraps it up was too abrupt. But I always enjoy visiting the mud people so there was that. Overall if this wasn't part of a series I wouldn't keep it on my shelf but just pass it along. Book 4 in the Sword of Truth series, and the best so far. This is a big/long book but my interest never sagged at any point. The same characters from the first three books, but a complex and involved story line that just keeps getting better and better. The audiobook goes for almost 29 hours. The narrator does a better job than the guy who narrated book 2, but unfortunately he mispronounces Kahlan's name throughout the book. According to all the previous books and the TV series based on the books, it should be pronounced 'Kay-Lin' but this narrator consistently pronounces it like it was 'Collin'. It takes some getting used to. The world is being over run by a plague and the only solution involves Kahlan and Richard each marrying someone they do not love instead of each other. LOTS of twists and turns in this book and you won't be able to put it down. Definitely one of the best books in the series so far. The plague that's unleashed is a very foreboding threat from start to finish, and it's sometimes heartbreaking to read about its victims. My only gripe is towards the end of the book when Richard becomes very depressed and boring despite having the power and knowledge he has. Otherwise a great book. Prestigefyllda urval
A fantasy novel featuring wizard Richard Cypher and his betrothed companion, Kahlan Amnell, as they battle an evil emperor who is using magic to spread a plague. But must they, as they are told, really renounce their love to win the fight? Inga biblioteksbeskrivningar kunde hittas. |

The similarities to Jordan's "Wheel of Time" series become increasingly obvious but if you like epic fantasy, that isn't necessarily a bad thing... (
