This book is based on Goldilocks and the Three Bears. There is the same setup as the original Goldilocks and the Three Bears, with a “special-needs” twist. This book opens up with the family of three bears, Papa, Mama and Baby Bear. Baby Bear has a disability and is in a wheelchair throughout the story. The family of bears go on a walk to physical therapy for Baby Bear and Goldilocks finds her way into the house when the Bears are not home and baby bear and Goldilocks become great friends. ( )

Summary:
This is a story about the familiar folktale of Goldilocks and the three bears but with a special needs little bear. Little bear is in a wheel chair and lives with his momma and papa bear. While little bear was at physical therapy Goldilocks came into the bear's home and noticed all of the special furniture that belonged to little bear. Little bear and Goldilocks became best friends and learned a lot about each other.

Personal Reaction:
I absolutely loved this story. It was really neat how the author took a classical tale and made it into something special.

Classroom Extension Ideas:
After reading this book to my classroom I would talk to my class about how everyone is different from each other and how this should not stop us from being friends.

This book would be good for a child who is new to using a wheelchair or a class of students with or without a disability. It is a twist on Golidlocks and the three bears. All of the baby bears items that she touches are wheelchair friendly i.e. a bed that moves up and down, a special chair, a ramp in the house. Also, baby bear goes to physical therapy. It was a cute read. ( )

I thought that this was a very cute book about disability. This tells the story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears but with a twist. The baby bear is in a wheelchair. I thought that this was a neat idea for a children's book. Every child is eventually going to encounter someone that is in a wheelchair and I think that this book would be good to introduce that to a child. I loved how the book showed everything that someone with a physical disability may have to go through on a daily basis, like physical therapy. I think that this part of the book made it more relatable. Also, a child that does have a disability does not often find a book about a fairy tale that has a character with a disability instead of the original fairy tale. This would be good for those children because then they can see that they are not alone.

I really liked the illustrations in this book as well. I thought that the book did not even need words in it to tell the story. The pictures said it all. The pictures also showed the different things that an individual with a disability may need in order to do everyday activities. They include a special bed and chair for the baby bear as well as a ramp for him to get in and out of the house.

Overall, I really liked this book because it shows that even fairy tale characters can have a disability and this would allow the reader to relate more with the characters. ( )

The story is somewhat similuar to the children's favorite Goldilocks and the Three Bear, but with a slight difference. Baby Bear uses a wheelchair, goes to phyiscal therapy. After phyiscal therapy the family return home to discover someone has been eating the porridge, sitting in their chairs, and laying in their beds. At the end Baby bear makes friends with Goldilocks.

This book is very good for introducing children with special needs, we all are same, but different. Children with phyiscal disabilities would be delighted to discover that baby bear is just like them. Children would also learn how to accept another friend with a phyiscal disability without being afraid. ( )
