Chuck Wendig definitely knows how to tell a believable story populated with characters that you truly care about. The books also have a "darker, more edgier Veronica Mars" feel to them which I love since I have been a Mars fan for a very long time! My only complaint is that the secondary characters in this novel didn't grab me quite as tightly as those in the first book did. So. As soon as the sequel was available for preorder, I preordered.
I was not only not disappointed in The Hunt, I found it to be as good in all ways and better in some than AB, and recommend it without reservation. I mean, the only part that nags at me is the severe and flunkable lack of school work, and I don't care. That's the beauty of fiction. It was more important to me that we're shown that not every bullet wound kills. Loved the progress, loved the messages, loved the end.
